Exam Pattern

The APTET 2021 will be conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh in all 13 Districts of the state of Andhra Pradesh. APTET 2021 will be held as a Computer Based Test (CBT). "The objective is to ensure National Standards and benchmark of Teacher quality in the recruitment process in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)", informs the official notification of APTET. APTET comprises of two exams, that is, Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates applying to be appointed as teachers from Class I to Class V (Category I) need to give Paper-I whereas those applying for Class VI to Class VIII (Category II), need to give Paper II.

How to choose language–I of APTET Paper-I: The following languages are offered under the First Language in the Schools under the State Syllabus viz., Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Odiya. A Candidate has to choose one of these 6 Languages under Language-I of TET, those candidates should have compulsorily studied that Language either as a medium of study or as First Language at least up to Class X. The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X. The Language-II shall be English for all the candidates.

Eligibility

Candidates need to meet separate APTET 2021 eligibility criteria for Category I and Category II.

Minimum Qualifications for APTET Paper - I [Classes I to V]:

The eligibility criteria for APTET 2021 Category I is such that candidates:
a) Should have completed Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. However, in case of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. And pass in 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

b) Should have completed Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks. In respect of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. To have cleared 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education. (BElEd) / 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to DElEd / DEd, course prior to the issue of these guidelines.
Note: NCTE guidelines were issued in the Month of August, 2010. Therefore, the candidates who acquired qualifications prior to August, 2010 are eligible with above-said qualifications/Percentage of marks.

Minimum Qualifications for APTET Paper - II (A) [Classes VI to VIII]:

The eligibility criteria for APTET 2021 Category II is such that candidates:
a) Should have completed BA/BSc/BCom, with at least 50% marks. In case of SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. And pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd) course / Bachelor of Education (BEd -Special Education).

b) Should have completed 4-year BA Ed/BSc Ed, with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.

Minimum Qualifications for APTET Paper II-B [Classes VI to VIII]:

i) Physical Education Teachers:
Must possess Intermediate Certificate issued by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (or) Equivalent certificate recognized by Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of A.P. and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of One or Two years duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) of duration not less than Two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution.

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (or) Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) at least Three years duration and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.P.Ed.) of one or two years duration/ Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed) of duration not less than two years (or equivalent) from any NCTE Recognized Institution
ii) Physical Education Teachers /School Assistant- Physical Education:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent (or) Bachelor’s Degree with Physical Education an elective subject (or) Graduate in Physical Education (BPE) at least 3 years duration.
(AND)
Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) of at least one-year duration course from NCTE Recognized University/Institution.

Note:

The candidates, who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (OR) Diploma in Elementary Education etc., are also eligible to appear for TET exam subject to the condition that the candidates cannot appear for DSC with this TET certificate unless the candidates acquire a requisite qualification.
A Diploma/ Degree course in Teacher Education recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and BEd (Special Education), a course recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
Intermediate qualification of Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Andhra Pradesh State or its equivalent as recognised by BIE, Andhra Pradesh State only shall be considered. So, the Bachelor’s Degree of a University Recognised by UGC only shall be considered.
