Socialism believes that class divisions in society are a fact and therefore irremediable, statement (c) is not correct as the objective of socialism is to lessen or abolish class divisions. Socialism analyses society in terms of income distribution. It emphasizes the centrality of community. It believes that material benefits should be distributed on the basis of need. The central concept of socialism is avisualisation of human beings as social beings united by their common humanity. Socialist are those who seek to establish a society of common ownership, democratic control and production for use, not profit. The most famous early socialist thinkers were Robert Owen, Henri de Saint-Simon, Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin.
