Question : 27 of 27
Marks: +1, -0
The values of current (I) flowing through a given resistor of resistance (R), for the corresponding values of potential difference (V) across the resistor are given below:
 V (volts)  0.50.5  1.01.0  1.51.5  2.02.0  2.52.5  3.03.0  4.04.0  5.05.0
 I (amperes)  0.10.1  0.20.2  0.30.3  0.40.4  0.50.5  0.60.6  0.80.8  1.01.0
Plot a graph between current (I) and potential difference (V)(V) and determine the resistance (R) of the resistor.
Solution:
We know that, V=RV=\mathbb{R}
From the graph, V=0.5V=0.5
I=0.1I=0.1
0.5=0.1×R0.5=0.1 \times R
0.50.1=R\frac{0.5}{0.1}=R
R=5 Ω.R=5\,\Omega.
