Candidates should take minimum 35% marks in each subject out of 100 marks. This is applicable for passing in compartmental system also.
For subjects (Non Language) in Part III Question Papers will be in English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Gujarati and Urdu.
Must secure a minimum of 35 marks out of 100 in each subject. For the “Science subject consisting of theory and practical Examination, minimum mark for a pass is 20 marks out of 75 in Theory and 15 marks out of 25 in Practical. This includes passing under the compartmental system also
OPTIONAL LANGUAGE: Marks secured in this subject is not taken into Account for declaration of a pass.
Eligibility
Pupil Candidates
There shall be a Government Examination at the end of the course in X Standard and the school students i.e Pupil Candidates who are studying in a recognized High school and Higher Secondary School and have completed the required age criteria are eligible to appear for the SSLC Public Examination conduct by this department during the month of March/April every year
Age Limit
As per the G.O. (Ms) No.1906, Education Department Dated: 22.08.77 the School pupil should have completed the age of 14 years on the first day of the month in which the examination is to be conducted
Age Exemption
However, if the school pupil has not completed 14 years as on the prescribed date they should submit an order from the under mentioned authorities to relax the rules and to grant exemption upto the limit specified against each for writing the Examination
District Educational Officer: In cases in which the age of the pupil is less than 14 by not more than two years
Chief Educational Officer: In cases in which age of pupil is less than 14 by more than two years
Every application for exemption shall be accompanied by a Medical Certificate signed by the registered Medical Practitioner testifying the Physical fitness of the pupil to withstand the strain and stress of the examination and by such certificate from the head of the school as may be required by subsidiary Rules.
Direct Private Candidates
Eligibility for appearing of SSLC Public Examination
VIII Standard Passed with English as a Language, 9th Standard discontinued, ESLC passed certificates, Studied 8th standard under SSA, Nonformal and Residential school scheme and got TC with 8th Standard pass, “C” Level certificate from open school, 141/2 years completed child Labourers who got TC with 8th pass from Non-Formal under the Child Labour Education Scheme of Labour Ministry are all eligible to appear for SSLC Examination.
Age
Direct private Candidate should have completed the age of 141/2 as on 1st March/ 1st September and as on 1st April /1st October.
