Exam Pattern

The GMAT exam pattern is designed to assess key skills such as analytical writing, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, and integrated reasoning. This structure plays a crucial role in determining a candidate's ability to succeed in management education programs. The GMAT exam consists of four main sections: Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal sections.

The total test duration is 3 hours and 7 minutes, providing each candidate ample time to demonstrate their competencies across diverse question formats such as multi-source reasoning, graphics interpretation, and table analysis. The scoring range for the GMAT is 200 to 800, with scores evaluated from the Quantitative and Verbal sections only.

  • The Analytical Writing Assessment section requires candidates to write an essay, analyzing an argument (30 minutes, 1 topic).
  • The Integrated Reasoning section tests skills in analyzing data and includes 12 questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
  • The Quantitative section includes 31 questions (both problem-solving and data sufficiency questions) that must be solved in 62 minutes.
  • The Verbal section has 36 questions covering reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction, to be completed in 65 minutes.

Each section of the GMAT exam is carefully timed to challenge candidates' ability to effectively manage their time, ensuring they can analyze data and make decisions under pressure. Understanding the test structure well in advance allows candidates to prepare strategically and perform their best on test day.
