Turmeric is a natural indicator which help us to identify whether a given solution is an acid, base or a neutral compound. The turmeric paper gives reddish brown colour if the $\mathrm{pH}$ ranges between 7.5 to 9.5. So, the solution is basic in nature. Therefore, the Universal $\mathrm{pH}$ indicator will show colour Blue or slightly dark blue colour. Violet will not be there because violet colour is shown for highly alkaline bases.
