Three resistors of 6 Ω, 4 Ω6\ \Omega,\ 4\ \Omega and 4 Ω4\ \Omega are connected together so that the total resistance is 8 Ω8\ \Omega. Draw a diagram to show this arrangement and give reason to justify your answer.
Solution:  
In parallel,
    1R′=14+14\;\; \frac{1}{R'} = \frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{4}
  R′=42=2 Ω\; R' = \frac{4}{2} = 2\ \Omega
In series,
R  =R′+R′′R \;= R' + R''
2 Ω+6 Ω  =8 Ω2\ \Omega+6\ \Omega \;= 8\ \Omega
