Democracy plays an important role to accommodate social diversity in many ways which are given below :
(i) It reduces the possibility of social tension becoming explosive.
(ii) In Belgium, every community recognised the existence of all.
(iii) It develops procedure to conduct competition between various social groups.
(iv) It ensures that every citizen has a chance of being in majority at some point of time.
(v) In democracy, majority need to work with minority. Democracy provides special rights to minority.
