Solution:  
(a) The two major rival blocks that fought World War I were the Allied Powers and the Central Powers. The Allies consisted of Britain, France, Russia and the USA. The Central Powers consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Ottoman Turkey.
OR
(b) Fixed exchange rates: These exchange rates are fixed. Government interfere to prevent movement in them.
Floating exchange rates: Fluctuation in these exchange rates depends on demand and supply of currencies in foreign exchange markets. Government has no interference in them.
