Question : 5 of 20
Marks: +1, -0
Three tennis balls are just packed in a cylindrical jar. If radius of each ball is r, volume of air inside the jar is
Solution:
Radius of cylinder = Radius of ball = r.
Height of cylinder (h) = 3 × Diameter of ball = 3 × (2r) = 6r
Volume of cylinder = πr2h\pi r^2 h
=π×r2×6r= \pi \times r^2 \times 6r
=6πr3= 6 \pi r^3
Volume of 3 balls = 3×  43πr3=4πr33 \times \; \frac{4}{3} \pi r^3 = 4 \pi r^3
Volume of air = Volume of cylinder - Volume of 3 balls
=6πr34πr3= 6 \pi r^3 - 4 \pi r^3
=2πr3= 2 \pi r^3
