Give reasons:
(a) nn-Butyl bromide has higher boiling point than t-butyl bromide.
(b) Racemic mixture is optically inactive.
(c) The presence of nitro group (−NO2)(- \mathrm{NO}_2) at o/po / p positions increases the reactivity of haloarenes towards nucleophilic substitution reactions.
Solution:  
(i) Larger surface area, higher van der Waals' forces, higher the boiling point.
(ii) Rotation due to one enantiomer is cancelled by another enantiomer.
(iii) −NO2- \mathrm{NO}_2 acts as electron withdrawing group or −I- \mathrm{I} effect.
