What is the difference between amylase and amylopectin?

Write the products obtained after hydrolysis of lactose.
Solution:  
Amylose is a long unbranced chain of α\alpha-D-glucose units held by C1−C4\mathrm{C}_1 - \mathrm{C}_4 glycosidic linkage whereas amylopectin is a branched chain polymer of α\alpha-Dglucose units, units in which chain is formed by C1−C6\mathrm{C}_1 - \mathrm{C}_6 glycosidic linkage while branching occurs by C1−C6\mathrm{C}_1 - \mathrm{C}_6 glycosidic linkage.
