Question : 7 of 29
Marks: +1, -0
If a⃗\vec{a} = xi^+2j^−zk^\widehat{xi}+\widehat{2j}-\widehat{zk} and b⃗\vec{b} = 3i^−yj^+k^\widehat{3i}-\widehat{yj}+\hat{k} are two equal vectors, then write the value of x + y + z
Solution:
Given, a⃗\vec{a} = xi^+2j^−zk^\widehat{xi}+\widehat{2j}-\widehat{zk} and b⃗\vec{b} = 3i^−yj^+k^\widehat{3i}-\widehat{yj}+\hat{k} are equal vectors.
∴ xi^+2j^−zk^\widehat{xi}+\widehat{2j}-\widehat{zk} = 3i^−yj^+k^\widehat{3i}-\widehat{yj}+\hat{k}
⇒ x = 3 , y = - 2 , z = - 1
∴ x + y + z = 3 + (- 2) + (- 1) = 0
