Question : 3 of 11
Marks: +1, -0
A number is chosen randomly from numbers 1 to 60 . The probability that the chosen number is multiple of 2 or 5 is
Solution:
Let A=A= Numbers multiple of 2
and B=B= Numbers multiple of 5
∴    P(A∪B)  =P(A)+P(B)−P(A∩B)\therefore \;\; P(A \cup B)\;=P(A)+P(B)-P(A \cap B)
  =  3060+  1260−  660\;=\;\frac{30}{60}+\;\frac{12}{60}-\;\frac{6}{60}
  =  3660=  35\;=\;\frac{36}{60}=\;\frac{3}{5}
∴\therefore Option (b) is correct.
