Question : 16 of 20
Marks: +1, -0
Direction ratios of a vector parallel to line x−12=−y=2z+16\frac{x-1}{2} = -y = \frac{2z+1}{6} are
Solution:
Given equation of the line is
x−12=−y=2z+16\frac{x-1}{2} = -y = \frac{2z+1}{6}
⇒x−12=y−0−1=2(z+12)6\Rightarrow \frac{x-1}{2} = \frac{y-0}{-1} = \frac{2\left(z + \frac{1}{2}\right)}{6}
⇒x−12=y−0−1=z+123\Rightarrow \frac{x-1}{2} = \frac{y-0}{-1} = \frac{z + \frac{1}{2}}{3}
The direction ratios of the line are (2, -1, 3).
