Question : 3 of 27
Marks: +1, -0
The magnetic susceptibility of magnesium at 300K300\,\mathrm{K} is 1.2×1051.2 \times 10^5. At what temperature will its magnetic susceptibility become 1.44×1051.44 \times 10^5 ?
OR
The magnetic susceptibility χ\chi of a given material is -0.5 . Identify the magnetic material.
Solution:
● For writing relationship between susceptibility and temperature
● Calculating the temperature
  χm  1T\; \chi_m \propto \; \frac{1}{T}
  T2=  χm1χm2×T1\; T_2 = \; \frac{\chi_{m 1}}{\chi_{m 2}} \times T_1
  T2=  1.2×1051.44×105×300=250  K\; T_2 = \; \frac{1.2 \times 10^5}{1.44 \times 10^5} \times 300 = 250 \; \mathrm{K}
OR
● For identification of magnetic material
It is diamagnetic material.
