Question : 3 of 9
Marks: +1, -0
SECTION -B
How is the equation for Ampere's circuital law modified in the presence of displacement current? Explain.
Solution:
Diagram
Explanation
  ∮C2B⃗⋅dl⃗=μ0I\; \oint\limits_{C_2} \vec{B} \cdot \vec{dl} = \mu_0 I
  ∮C2B⃗⋅dl⃗=μ0(IC+ID)\; \oint\limits_{C_2} \vec{B} \cdot \vec{dl} = \mu_0 (I_C + I_D)
There is an inconsistency in the Ampere's Circuital law.
Maxwell modified it to be
  ∮B⃗⋅dl⃗=μ0(iC+id)\; \oint \vec{B} \cdot \vec{dl} = \mu_0 (i_C + i_d)
     where   id=Eo  dϕEdt\;\; \text{ where }\; i_d = E_o \; \frac{d\phi_E}{dt}
