Ammonium hydroxide solution is added to copper(II) nitrate solution in smail quantities and then in excess.
Solution:  
(a) When NH4 OH\mathrm{NH}_4\,\mathrm{OH} is added to copper (II) nitrate solution in small quantities then a pale blue ppt. is observed.
(b) When added in excess it disolves to give an inky blue solution forming a complex salt.
