Solution:  
A chalky white ppt of lead hydroxide [Pb(OH)2][\mathrm{Pb}(\mathrm{OH})_2] is obtained which dissolves in excess NaOH\mathrm{NaOH} forming a clear colourless solution of sodium plumbate [Na2PbO2][\mathrm{Na}_2\mathrm{PbO}_2] .
