Question : 30 of 66
Marks: +1, -0
A man having a box on his head, climbs up a slope and another man having an identical box walks the same distance on a levelled road. Who does more work against the force of gravity and why?
Solution:
Man climbs up a slope does more work against the force of gravity because potential energy is directly related to the height.
As,  P.E.     =   work done   =F×S\text{ P.E. } \; \; = \; \text{ work done } \; = F \times S
  =mg×h\; = m g \times h
while the work done by the man walking on a levelled road is zero.
