A nut is opened by a wrench of length 20 cm20\ \mathrm{cm}. If the least force required is 2 N2\ \mathrm{N}, find the moment of force needed to loosen the nut.
Solution:  
     Given : Force   =2 N,d=20 cm  .   =0.2 m  .   \;\; \text{ Given : Force }\; =2\ \mathrm{N}, d=20\ \mathrm{cm} \; \text{. }\; =0.2\ \mathrm{m} \; \text{. }\;
     Moment of force   =   Force   ×   distance   \;\; \text{ Moment of force }\; =\; \text{ Force }\; \times \; \text{ distance }\;
  =2×0.2\;=2 \times 0.2
  =0.4 Nm\;=0.4\ \mathrm{Nm}
