Question : 42 of 78
Marks: +1, -0
The direction of 20kgf20 \mathrm{kgf} force is reversed. What is the magnitude of the resultant moment of the forces on the rod?
Solution:
On reversing the direction of 20gf20 \mathrm{gf} force, it now provides clockwise moment.
Thus the resultant moment of the forces on the rod
  =120  gf−cm+120  gf−cm\;=120\;\mathrm{gf}-\mathrm{cm}+120\;\mathrm{gf}-\mathrm{cm}
  =240  gf−cm   (clockwise)   \;=240\;\mathrm{gf}-\mathrm{cm}\;\text{ (clockwise) }\;
