As, 12Ω12 \Omega and 8Ω8 \Omega are in parallel, so potential difference across then will be same.
  I1×R1=I2×R2\; I_1 \times R_1 = I_2 \times R_2
      I1×12=I2×8\; \therefore \;\; I_1 \times 12 = I_2 \times 8
      0.4×12=I2×8\; \Rightarrow \;\; 0.4 \times 12 = I_2 \times 8
      I2=0.4×128=0.6A\; \Rightarrow \;\; I_2 = \frac{0.4 \times 12}{8} = 0.6 \mathrm{A}
