Calculate the maximum current that the appliance can draw.
Solution:  
     Given :     P=440  W;V=220   Volt   \;\;\text{ Given : }\;\; P=440\;\mathrm{W}; V=220\;\text{ Volt }\;
  ∵    P=VI\; \because \;\; P = VI
  ∴    I=PV=440220\; \therefore \;\; I = \frac{P}{V} = \frac{440}{220}
  =2  A\; = 2 \; \mathrm{A}
