What should be the magnetic poles at the points and lying on either side of the conductor to experience the force in the upward direction?
Solution:
The magnetic pole at point will be the North pole and at the point will be the South pole. Reason : The direction of magnetic field (Which runs from North pole to South pole) will be as illustrated in the diagram below :
