Salman invests a sum of money in ₹ 50 shares, paying 15%15\% dividend quoted at 20%20\% premium. If his annual dividend is ₹ 600\text{₹ 600}, calculate:

Solution:  
Nominal value of 1   share   =501\;\text{ share }\;=\text{₹}50
     Dividend on   1   share   =  15100×50\;\;\text{ Dividend on }\;1\;\text{ share }\;=\;\frac{15}{100}\times 50
  =7.50\;=\text{₹}7.50
Total Dividend of Salman =600=\text{₹}600
No. of shares bought =  6007.50=\;\frac{600}{7.50}
  =80   shares   \;=80\;\text{ shares }\;
