Question : 39 of 52
Marks: +1, -0
Construct a â–³ABC\triangle ABC with BC=6.5cm,AB=BC = 6.5 \text{cm}, AB = 5.5cm,AC=5cm5.5 \text{cm}, AC = 5 \text{cm}. Construct the incircle of the triangle. Measure and record the radius of the incircle.
Solution:
Steps of construction :
(1) Construct a â–³ABC\triangle ABC with the given data.
(2) Draw the internal bisectors of ∠B\angle B and ∠C\angle C. Let these bisectors cut at OO.
(3) Taking OO as centre. Draw a incircle which touches all the sides of the Δ\Delta ABCABC.
(4) From O draw a perpendicular to side BC which cut at NN.
(5) Measure ON which is required radius of the incircle.
ON=1.5cm   (app.)   ON = 1.5 \text{cm} \; \text{ (app.) } \;
