In double-slit experiment using light of wavelength 600 nm, the angular width of a fringe formed on a distant screen is 0.1°. What is the spacing between the two slits?
Solution:  
Angular width, θ = λd\frac{\lambda}{d}
0.1 = 0.1180\frac{0.1}{180} π rad = 6×10−7d\frac{6 \times 10^{-7}}{d}
∴ d = 6×10−7×1800.1×π\frac{6 \times 10^{-7} \times 180}{0.1 \times \pi} = 3.44 × 10−410^{-4} m
