How is the presence of SO2\mathrm{SO}_2 detected?

Presence of SO2\mathrm{SO}_2 is detected by bringing a paper dipped in acidifiedpotassium dichromate near the gas. If the paper turns green, it shows thepresence of SO2\mathrm{SO}_2 gas.
