Question : 3 of 78
Marks: +1, -0
If a line has direction ratios – 18, 12, –4, then what are its direction cosines?
Solution:
Given direction ratios are < – 18, 12, – 4>
As (18)2+(12)2+(4)2=22,\sqrt{(-18)^2+(12)^2+(-4)^2}=22,
therefore, d.c. of the line are 1822,1222,422\Rightarrow \langle -\frac{18}{22},\frac{12}{22},-\frac{4}{22} \rangle
