At the dining table, Zitkala-Sa heard a man's voice and as she looked around to see him, she caught the eyes of a pale-faced woman upon her. She was keenly watched by the strange woman. Moreover she wasn't used to eating by fomula. So, as the third bell rang and everybody started eating, Zitkala began to cry as she could do nothing at that time and felt out of place.
