'21st century is an age of greed'.
'21st century is an age of greed'.
Solution:
21ST CENTURY IS AN AGE OF GREED
AGAINST :
Respected chairperson, members of the jury and my worthy opponents, I, xyz of class XII am glad to have the opportunity today to argue against the motion that "21st Century is an age of greed".
The notion that the 21st century is full of greed is one that is easy to arrive at. Today we have more material comfort than we probably know what to do with and a great divide in the incomes that people earn. Yet, we are in a time when more people are giving to charity than ever before. In the past few years, those who can, have started donating generously to multiple causes. There exist NGO's and charities that help people with everything from getting back onto their feet after a natural disaster to curing terminal illnesses. What is important to note is not just that these charities exist, but that there is an increasing number of people giving generously towards various causes. Moreover, according to statistics, people want peace by involving in many activities like yoga, meditation, etc. As a matter of fact, social media has played an important role in encouraging, people to donate to the right medium.
To conclude, I would like to point out that while there is an increasing number of products, technological advances and services people are paying for, there is a balanced increase in the amount that people are giving to those in need. Thank You!

Respected chair person, members of the jury and my worthy opponents, I, XYZ of class XII am glad to have the opportunity today to argue in favour of the motion-21st century is an age of greed'.
21st century is an age of technological advancements, digitisation of services, and dependence on social media. It is rightly said by Dan Robinson that, 'One of the weaknesses of our age is our apparent inability to distinguish our needs from our greed.' Greed is defined as an insatiable longing for food, money, power, or status.
The 21st century has not only satisfied our needs, but it has pushed us to the point of becoming greedy. The culture of consumerism is fostered by e-commerce websites which lure customers into buying things by glorifying the idea of spending money and by offering strategic discounts. This fulfills the greed of both the traders as they are chasing profits as well as customers who are eyeing after material goods. Moreover, quality of these goods is mostly compromised since fraud is the daughter of greed.
Next comes the greed for power. Political parties are greedy to win the majority and hence there are uprisings, protests, debates, and other forms of political maneuvers to hold on to that power and to demonstrate it.
Everyone has two wolves inside them one representing greed and the other gratitude. It is up to each person to choose the wolf they want to feed. And the people in the 21st century are only feeding greed.
