In the poem, the Roadside Stand, Robert Frost writes about the selfish needs of the rich people who stop their cars for their own selfish needs rather than helping the poor who have their roadside stands. They stop occasionally to inquire about the vegetables but have no intention of purchasing it, some stop to reverse their cars while some just stop to ask the correct directions to their destinations. Some even stop to ask if the stand sell gas although it clear that it sells no gas.
