Subject: Poorly lit roads in the city
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the problem of poorly lit roads in the city which invite serious problems. Due to it, daily few numbers of incidents are taking place. Petty crimes such as cases of purse and chain snatching at knife point have increased because of which it has become difficult to stay out after dark. Another problem which the public is facing is accidents. Without adequate lighting, it is difficult for the drivers to see possible dangers on the road like pedestrians, animals, sign boards and cyclists. During monsoons, the situation becomes worse for the motorists who face visibility problems.
There are electric poles on the road but no electricity. Thus, the authorities are requested to look into the matter and rectify it as soon as possible.
Hope my letter will find place in your daily column.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Hamida/Hamid
