A green stemmed rose plant denoted by GG and a brown stemmed rose plant denoted by 98 are allowed to undergo a cross with each other.
(a) List your observations regarding
(i) Colour of stem in their F1F_1 progeny
(ii) Percentage of brown stemmed plants in F2F_2 progeny if F1F_1 plants are self pollinated.
(iii) Ratio of GG and Gg in the F, progeny.
(b) Based on the findings of this cross, what conclusion can be drawn?
Solution:  
(a) (i) Colour of stems in F1F_1 progeny will be all green.
(ii) The percentage of brown stem will be 25%25 \% i.e, one-fourth of the total number of progeny.
(iii) GG: GgGg is 1:21: 2
(b) Based on the findings of this cross this can be concluded that green stemmed plants are dominant whereas brown stemmed plants are recessive.
