Solution:  
The measures taken by Gandhiji to eliminate the problem of untouchability were
(i) He said that swaraj would not come for hundred years if untouchability was no eliminated.
(ii) Gandhiji himself cleaned toilets dignify the work of a sweeper.
(iii) Gandhiji persuaded the upper caste change their heart and give up 'sin o untouchability'.
(iv) He organised satyagraha to secure thei entry into temples, access to public wells tanks, roads and public schools.
(v) He signed the Poona Pact in Septembe 1932 with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar througl which some seats were reserved fo the depressed classes in provincial an central legislative council.
