Question : 16
Total: 37
The work done in moving a charge particle between two points in an uniform electric field, does not depend on the path followed by the particle. Why?
Solution:
The work done to move a charge between two points in an electric field is W=qEd=qV
where q= magnitude of the charge,
E= Electric Field,
d= distance between the two points
V= potential difference between the two points.
Hence, work done is independent of path following by the particle between the two points. It only depends on the difference of potentials of the two points.
