2C2H6+7O24CO2+6H2O.2\mathrm{C}_2\mathrm{H}_6+7\mathrm{O}_2 \rightarrow4\mathrm{CO}_2+6\mathrm{H}_2\mathrm{O}.
If 1250 cc of oxygen is burnt with 300 cc300\ \mathrm{cc} of ethane.

If 2 vol. of C2H6\mathrm{C}_2\mathrm{H}_6 burnswith 7 vol. of O2\mathrm{O}_2 then 300extcc300 ext{cc} of C2H6\mathrm{C}_2\mathrm{H}_6 burnswith 72×300\frac{7}{2} \times 300
=1050extcc= 1050 ext{cc}
Total O2=1250extcc\mathrm{O}_2 = 1250 ext{cc} (given)
Vol. of O2\mathrm{O}_2 used =1050extcc= 1050 ext{cc}
herefore  extVol.ofunused  O2  =12501050herefore \; ext{ Vol. of unused }\; \mathrm{O}_2\; = 1250-1050
  =200extcc.\; = 200 ext{cc} .
