Question : 21
Total: 70
Calculate the equivalent resistance between the points A and B for the following combination of resistors :
Solution:
Let 4 Ω , 4 Ω and 4 Ω are in series.
R 1 = 4 + 4 + 4 = 12 Ω .
Now2 Ω , 2 Ω and 2 Ω are in series.
R 2 = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6 Ω
NowR 1 = 12 Ω , R 2 = 6 Ω and 4 Ω are in parallel.

R 3 = 2 Ω
Now resistance betweenA and B , 5 Ω , 2 Ω and 6 Ω are in series.
Resistance between A and B,R = 5 + 2 + 6 = 13 Ω
Hence, Equivalent resistance betweenA and B = 13 Ω
