A body of mass 10 Kg10\,\mathrm{Kg} is kept at a height of 5 mm . It is allowed to fall and reach the ground.

What is the kinetic energy possessed by the body just before hitting the ground?
Take g=10 m/s2g=10\,\mathrm{m/s}^2 .
Solution:  
∵  U+K= Constant \because\; U + K = \text{ Constant }
∴  U1+K1=U2+K2\therefore\; U_1 + K_1 = U_2 + K_2
⇒500+0=0+K2\Rightarrow 500+0=0+ K_2
(U2=0, as h =0( U_2=0, \text{ as h } =0 for the body just ( before hitting the ground)
∴  K2=500J\therefore\; K_2 = 500 \mathrm{J}
