Why is a Calorimeter made up of thin sheets of the above material answered in (ii)?
Solution:
It is made up of a thin sheet of copper because :
(1) Copper is a good conductor of heat, so the vessel soon acquires the temperature of its contents, and
(2) Copper has the low specific heat capacity so the heat capacity of calorimeter is low and the amount of heat energy taken by the calorimeter from the contents to acquire. its temperature, is very small.
