Question : 21 of 67
Marks: +1, -0
Calculate the total resistance across A B: \text{A B: }
Solution:
The resistors 3 Ω3\,\Omega and 6 Ω6\,\Omega are in parallel. If their equivalent resistance is RpR_p, then
    1Rp=  13+  16\;\;\frac{1}{R_p} = \;\frac{1}{3} + \;\frac{1}{6}
    1Rp=  2+16=  36\;\;\frac{1}{R_p} = \;\frac{2+1}{6} = \;\frac{3}{6}
    1Rp=  12\;\;\frac{1}{R_p} = \;\frac{1}{2}
or Rp=2 ΩR_{p} = 2\,\Omega
Now, RpR_p and 5 Ω5\,\Omega are in series,
So, Rs  =2+5R_{s} \; = 2+5
  =7 Ω\; = 7\,\Omega
Thus the total resistance across AB=7 ΩAB = 7\,\Omega
