When we test the leaf A for starch we will notice that the half the leaf that was inside the flask turns brown with iodine solution, whereas the part of leaf outside the flask turns blue black because outside the flask CO2 was available. So it performed photosynthesis and prepared starch, whereas inside the flask, there is no CO2, so no photosynthesis, therefore no starch is present in it.
