Why is zinc not extracted from zinc oxide through reduction using CO?
Solution:  
The standard free energy of formation (∆fG°) of CO‌2 from CO ishigher than that of the formation of ZnO from Zn. Hence, CO cannot beused to reduce ZnO to Zn.
