Question : 11 of 50
Marks: +1, -0
Silver crystallises in fcc lattice. If edge length of the cell is 4.07 × 108^{-8} cm and density is 10.5 g cm3^{-3}, calculate the atomic mass of silver.
Solution:
M=d×sa3×NAZM = \frac{d \times s a^{3} \times N_{A}}{Z}
      =10.5×(4.07×108)3×(6.02×1023)4\;\;\;= \frac{10.5 \times (4.07 \times 10^{-8})^{3} \times (6.02 \times 10^{23})}{4}
      =106.5  g  mol1\;\;\;=106.5 \; \mathrm{g} \; \mathrm{mol}^{-1}
