Concept: Follow BODMAS rule to solve this question, as per the order given below: Step-1: Parts of an equation enclosed in 'Brackets' must be solved first, and in the bracket, Step-2: Any mathematical 'Of' or 'Exponent' must be solved next, Step-3: Next, the parts of the equation that contain 'Division' and 'Multiplication' are calculated, Step-4: Last but not least, the parts of the equation that contain 'Addition' and 'Subtraction' should be calculated. Calculation: Let the number be x, then According to the question $\frac{\left[ (x \times 3 \times 5) + 10 \right]}{2} - 4 = \frac{1}{3} \text{ of } (4 \times 3)$ ⇒ $\frac{15x + 10}{2} - 4 = 12 \times \frac{1}{3}$ ⇒ $\frac{15x + 10}{2} - 4 = 4$ ⇒ $\frac{15x + 10}{2} = 8$ ⇒ $15x + 10 = 8 \times 2$ ⇒ $15x + 10 = 16$ ⇒ $15x = 16 - 10$ ⇒ $15x = 6$ ⇒ $x = \frac{6}{15}$ ⇒ $x = \frac{2}{5}$ ⇒ $x = 0.4$ ∴ The required number is 0.4.
