Given: Alloy A contains metals gold and bronze in the ratio 5 : 8 Alloy B contains these metals in the ratio 3 : 10 Alloy C is prepared by mixing A and B in the ratio 1 : 1 Calculations: Alloy A ⇒ gold $=\frac{5}{13}$ , bronze $= \frac{8}{13}$ Alloy B ⇒ gold $=\frac{3}{13}$ , bronze $=\frac{10}{13}$ ⇒ gold $=\frac{5}{13}+\frac{3}{13}=\frac{8}{13}$ ⇒ bronze $=\frac{8}{13}+\frac{10}{13}=\frac{18}{13}$ ⇒ Ratio of gold to bronze $= \frac{8}{13} : \frac{18}{13}$ ⇒ 8 : 18 ⇒ Ratio of bronze to gold = 9 : 4 ∴ Ratio of bronze to gold is 9 : 4.
