Biodiversity refers to the variety found in biota from genetic make-up of plants and animals to cultural diversity. The main cause of the loss of biodiversity can be attributed to the influence of human beings on the world's ecosystem. The important factors is over exploitation of resources, pollution, exotic species, co-extinction, alien species invasion, intensive agriculture and forestry.
