He founded the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in Aligarh in the year 1875.
He founded the Scientific Society of Aligarh in 1864.

Dr. Zakir Hussain:
He was the first Muslim president of India.
He was the second vice president of India.
He was the third President of India.
He received the Padma Vibhushan in the year l954 and Bharat Ratna in the year 1963.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad:
He was the first education minister of independent India from 1947 to 1958.
He was posthumously awarded 'Bharat Ratna' in the year 1992.
He started a weekly journal in Urdu called Al-Hilal to increase the revolutionary recruits amongst the Muslims.
He adopted the pen name, Azad.
Maulana Hasrat Mohani:
He was the first person to demand ‘Poorna Swaraj’ for India at the Ahmedabad session of the INC in 1921.
He gave the slogan Inquilab Zindabad in 1921.
He was the chairman of the reception committee of the first Indian communist conference held in 1925.
