(a) Let Maths and English marks are denoted by M and E.

According to the given condition.,

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; \frac{M}{3} = \; \frac{E}{2}

⇒

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; M = \frac{3E}{2}

and

\frac{3E}{2} + E = 150

\Rightarrow \;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; \frac{5E}{2} = 150

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; E = 60
